For Marc Jacobs’ fall-winter fashion show, Gigi, 27, and Bella, 25, wore jet black hair, shaved high on the sides, and their eyebrows seemed to have disappeared.
Both had super short, curved fringes, which looked like a cross between Rachel the Blade Runner replicant and… well, we’re not sure what exactly.

Marc Jacobs’ show was a bit of a bleached eyebrow raise, with lumpy shapes, huge platform shoes, dresses that looked like they were made from garbage bags, and futuristic fabrics.
It was a bit of a mishmash, and the reviews were mixed, but fashion aside, Bella and Gigi’s fans were a little concerned: had they shaved their hair (and eyebrows?) and dyed their hair black?
Well, fear not, Hadid fans. The sisters wore wigs, and their eyebrows were bleached blond but not completely shaved.
Renowned fashion stylist Duffy partnered with prosthetic artists to attach bald head caps with fake hair.
It shows that the Hadids are versatile anyway – they can also wear edgy high fashion and their more typical sexy Victoria’s Secret style.
Bella liked the Marc Jacobs look so much that she shared a series of backstage images from the show on her Instagram.
However, not all of her fans and followers were convinced.
“Bella, what have they done to you, honey?” a follower wrote.
“I love you, but what is this?” asked another.
One fan said Bella looked like Lisbeth Salander from The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
On Gigi’s Instagram page, she captioned a close-up photo of her appearance with the caption, “Everything for Marc.”
While the post had quite a few fans, again, others didn’t hold back.
“No, Gigi, no,” wrote one person.
“What the f***,” said another.
Another was even blunter: “I’m sorry, but this doesn’t look good.”
It seems some fans thought the haircut and missing eyebrows were permanent.
But it was all for fashion, dahling – and some followers; itt was nice to see the models doing something different.

“Wow, what a look!” a fashion fan enthusiast.
“Astonishing!” wrote another.
The fashion critics generally seemed to like the unusual collection, with Vogue’s Nicole Phelps calling it “knockout stuff” and W Magazine saying Marc Jacobs’s creative choices made the world “a little brighter” in dark times.
But it seems that everyday fashion enthusiasts thought otherwise.
When images of the collection were posted to Marc Jacobs’ Instagram account, the keyboard warriors had a field day.
“Remember when you designed real clothes, we could wear daily? I miss those days,” one person wrote.
“This is a bit strange, I must say. Stranger Things 5,” another joked.
Others were less nice, with one follower calling the looks “horror” and another “beyond ridiculous”.
Jacobs later posted a message explaining his inspiration for the collection.
“Amid an ever-changing landscape of resources, unexpected obstacles, and a world feverishly digitizing new standards of reality, my sense is unwavering – creativity is essential to life,” he wrote.
“We share our choice in opposition to the continued brutality and ugliness of a world beyond our isolated but not impenetrable walls.”
He then quoted the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche: “We have art not to die of the truth.”
